I started drawing as soon I could hold a pencil. Studied Art and nursing at Citrus College in Azusa, CA. Opened my own gallery, Avalon Arts, in White Bear Lake in 1991. Moved to Arizona, and fell in love with the light and color! I am represented exclusively by Rogoway Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Tubac, AZ
I use several different mediums. With a backround in watercolor and author of "Watercolor for the Fun of It, Painting People" published by North Light Books.; I have also illustrated 10 Children's Books. My watercolors and collages have appeared in several books, album covers, and in national art magazines. After moving to AZ, I started doing collage, to paint the Southwest colors onto stretched canvas. Since I still love watercolor, I have come up with a technique of painting watercolor on to a handmade surface, and am able to varnish and frame without glass.
These are some of the handmade papers that inspire me. I make some of my own papers, and purchase some. Horses, people and animals are my favorite subjects. Horses are so strong, free and graceful . they really intrigue me as I try to show their movement and soul.
